About: Students of the Forbidden Path are defined by their shortcomings: the collapsed fortitude of the Diseased, the failed self-control of the Unclean One and the cannibalistic hunger of the Infested. The astute Warlock, however, has conquered all of these pitfalls and discovered how to balance the delicate dance of life, corruption and death within his soul. No longer prey to sickness and torments, these elite sorcerers of the Forbidden Path are able to fling bolts of destruction across great distances and suck the living energy out of the weak. They are mightily feared, and the mere act of opposing one drains courage from the stoutest fighter.
Despite its confidence, the Warlock has not the sturdiness of the truly healthy, and is best kept from the front lines. However, from time to time he may sap the strength close to him to regain strength.
Usage: When one has faced an army of Warlocks, one knows their power and effectiveness, as they plow through units and buildings. Getting up close and personal is a problem and once done, they keep sapping the enemies' stamina. Range units play into their strengths by making them Range attack, and not Melee attack. Uniform Level 3 armies quickly die before them.
They come into my army during Second Chance. If they survive the assault / defence, they stay in my army. My Second Chance ensures that my melee units stay up front, while the range units stay behind.
Lythis' Dark Arson skill is not so great against units, as it is on buildings. Use it a couple of times on one building, then shift to the next building, and so on. You will have multiple buildings burning themselves down. I don't use this much, as I prefer the Master Warlock's Soul Thresher.
I have NEVER used the Life Siphon. I don't like the sound of it, stealing Allies health. I use Tausil's powers instead for blessing diseased and Master Warlocks.
Sehk's Soul Chill resembles the Ice Nova of Diablo II. I use it rarely, when the particular Warlock is under attack from melee units. It's pretty effective, but as always, I would rather use Sehk's powers for the Master Warlock's Ephemeral Corridor.
